Before talking about Windows 11 release date and its features, let’s talk about the current super operating system.
There are many operating systems in the market, like macOS, ChromeOS, Windows XP, Windows 8, Windows 10, Ubuntu, Kali Linux, and a lot more.
Some are famous for their speed, and some are famous for their multitasking capability. People love some for their beautiful UI, and some are very beginner-friendly.
99% of PC users worldwide have used the Windows Operating System, and 100% of them have used Windows 10! Windows 10 is a legendary Operating System that lets you unchain your imagination and do the impossible.
But, Windows 10 has been in the market for a long time now.
Being released in 2015, Windows 10 has had the hold of the market for almost 6+ years. And now we hear can hear about another upcoming legend, Windows 11!
Windows 11 release date
Microsoft will release the next version of Windows on June 24th. The software giant has said in the past that Windows 10 will be the “The Last version” of the most common operating system in the world.
However, on another site, Windows Central, reporter Zac Bowden wrote a review article saying that Microsoft plans to rename the upcoming Sun Valley update to “Windows 11“. This will help differentiate it as an update in the eyes of consumers. The amount worth increasing.
Although Bowden may be cheeky about his title, it looks like he is in fashion. Even The Verge even used Windows 11 instead of 10 to be the title of a recent article.
At least from a messaging perspective, Windows 11 is more accessible than saying “the next version of Windows.”
Either way, whether this update is called Windows 10 Series W, Windows 11, or Windows 10.2, this is all we currently know about the upcoming Sun Valley update.
Will Microsoft even call this next update “Windows 11”?
Although it is easier for reporters to refer to this update as Windows 11, we hope that Microsoft will stick to it and continue to use Windows 10.
This would be in line with their “Windows as a service” idea, plus Microsoft skips Windows 9 alone, so you can use 10 to find a clean and simple number.
So why use an odd number like 11? Then, of course, Microsoft can mimic Samsung and jump from 10 to 20. Although fans and the media may call this upcoming version Windows 11 for convenience, don’t be surprised if Microsoft insists on using Windows 10 for the foreseeable future.
For the remainder of this summary, we will refer to the next version of Windows as Windows 11.
Windows 11 release date Microsoft has not given an exact release date for Windows 11. Still, it is planned to be broadcast online on June 24th at 11 am Eastern Time / 8 am Pacific Time.
To understand when it might appear, let’s take a look at Windows 10.
Windows 10 release date 2021
Microsoft launched Windows 10 on September 30th, 2014. This is followed by an early technology preview that Microsoft enthusiasts can sign up for. But it wasn’t until July 29th, 2015, that Microsoft officially released Windows 10 to the public.
Ten months after the official opening, it is already in super demand. If Windows 10 can be used as a measurement standard, Windows 11 will be launched in April next year. But we seriously doubt that Microsoft will take that long.
It is expected that the next version of Windows will be a reliable update, not a complete patch. This means that the backbone of Sun Valley is Windows 10.
With the framework in place, we expect the next version of Windows to arrive sometime this year. After that, maybe Microsoft will take a card from Apple and release it within 5-6 months after launch.
Windows 11 Features
Windows 11 features are based on leaks, and Windows 11 does not seem much different from Windows 10. It is still the same design we are all used to, but with a fresher coating. However, it’ll have the Windows 10 features included plus the issues solved!
Microsoft will introduce widgets, callbacks to Windows Vista, and improved window settings in Windows 10. This is good news for users with ultra-wide screens, who can use more options by placing different applications on the screen.
It seems that Windows 11 will also try to merge some of the designs of Windows 10X into Windows 11 instead of launching a product called Windows 10X to the market in 2021.
Windows 10X is a now-defunct version of Windows 10 designed to Compete with Chrome OS.
John Cable, head of Windows Services and Delivery, said in a blog post that “According to the original plan, we are learning from the journey so far and accelerating the integration of key basic 10X technologies into other parts of Windows and products across the enterprise in”.
New application container technology, improved voice input, and a better touch keyboard. Other than that, we know very little.
Windows 11 System Requirements
It is being said that Windows 11 won’t need any extensive system upgrade. Instead, it’ll follow the same pattern as Windows 10 concerning System Requirements.
Windows 11 Release Date and PRICE
We expect Microsoft to follow a pricing strategy similar to Windows 10. At the time, anyone with a Windows 7 or 8 PC could upgrade to Windows 10 for free. However, PC manufacturers will have to purchase the operating system separately at a price of $100.
However, it is relatively easy to purchase keys from other key distribution sites at discounted prices.
Microsoft seems to realize that the power of Windows is everywhere. As a result, getting everyone into the new operating system is critical to executing its broader business strategy.
Essentially, the more people who use Windows 10 instead of 7 or 8, the better.
This is why we believe that Microsoft will make the leap from Windows 10 to 11 as smoothly as possible. And the Windows 11 release date isn’t that far away!
